Shares Values
Share Value refers to the price of a single unit or share in an investment fund, which fluctuates based on the performance of the fund’s assets and market conditions.
Context
The way the share value is determined depends on whether the fund is listed or unlisted. For unlisted funds, an independent expert often appraises the value of the fund’s assets, allowing the fund manager to determine the share value. In listed funds, the share value is determined by supply and demand in the stock market, reflecting the buying and selling prices at any given time.
Example
If you invest $500 in a fund with a share value of $50, you would own 10 shares. If the share value rises to $60, your investment would be worth $600.
